Vaughn Neubauer

Vaughn Neubauer is a founding partner of Neubauer, Pelkey, & Goldfinger, LLP who’s been practicing law for over 22 years. His extensive experience as a criminal defense attorney can be attributed to the hundreds of cases he’s tried before a jury. Nine of which were high-profile homicides. Equally important, Vaughn is proud to be one of the very few Wyoming lawyers who is qualified to serve as lead defense counsel in death penalty cases. To this end, he has successfully kept two people off of Wyoming’s death row.

History & Law

Vaughn takes an express and impassioned interest in fighting for your rights. His intrigue in law blossomed as a young Army Paratrooper in the 1980s. During this time, Vaughn traveled and observed different cultures and governments. As a result of this, he pursued a BA in history through the University of Wyoming. Later earning his doctorate in law in 2000. He has studied the Holocaust extensively as well as other large-scale human rights atrocities. Vaughn has always held reverence for the past and its implications on today’s democracy and civil liberties. In one of Vaughn’s interviews with the Boomerang, he said, “You give the powers that be unfettered discretion to do to defendants whatever they want to do, and we’ll be back in Pennsylvania in the 17th century. You’ve got to have people constantly challenging people, even the well-intentioned ones. ”
